How to Play New Year Bingo

  1. Print the Bingo Cards and Calling Cards: Print out a set of New Year Bingo cards for all players and one set of calling cards. Each bingo card is unique and features New Year-themed icons like “balloons,” “fireworks,” and “confetti.”
  2. Distribute the Bingo Cards: Hand out one bingo card to each participant. Ensure everyone has markers or small objects (e.g., coins, buttons) to cover their card squares.
  3. Shuffle the Calling Cards: Mix the calling cards thoroughly and place them in a bag or a stack facedown.
  4. Draw and Announce Calling Cards: The caller picks one card at a time, announces the item, and shows the corresponding icon. For example, “Rocket” or “Toast.”
  5. Mark the Bingo Card: Players look for the announced item on their bingo card. If they have it, they place a marker over the square.
  6. Win by Completing a Pattern: The first player to complete a row, column, or diagonal shouts “Bingo!” The caller verifies their card against the called items.
  7. Optional Variations:
    • Play multiple rounds and declare different winners.
    • Use patterns like “four corners” or “full card” for added challenges.

This fun and festive game is perfect for New Year celebrations, bringing joy and excitement to gatherings for all ages!

My Favorite Printable Supplies

Here are some of my top go-to supplies for creating printable games and activities:

  • Printer: A high-quality printer is essential for the best results. If you’re in the market for one, I recommend the Canon Pixma MG3620 for its reliable performance.
  • White Cardstock: For most projects, I suggest using cardstock. It’s much sturdier than regular printer paper and often gives you a crisper, more professional print.
  • Crayons: A must-have for any crafting household! Crayola crayons are always the best choice for vibrant colors and smooth application.
  • Kid-Friendly Safety Scissors: Ideal for little ones learning to cut. These scissors are designed to cut paper, not fingers or hair, making them perfect for young crafters!
  • Glue Sticks: I love using disappearing purple glue sticks. They’re easy to apply and dry clear. I always stock up in bulk because we go through them quickly!
  • Lamination Machine: Laminating your printables helps them last longer, especially for reusable games. If you’re laminating, don’t forget to grab some dry-erase markers for added flexibility.
  • Dry Erase Pockets: A great alternative to laminating, dry erase pockets make it easy to reuse games and activities without the need for a laminator.
