This is a fun “I Spy” game themed for New Year’s Eve! The activity sheet features ten different New Year’s icons hidden within a larger image. Children are tasked with counting the occurrences of each icon and writing the number in the provided boxes. The icons include party hats, snowflakes, disco balls, noisemakers, clocks, and more. It combines counting practice with a festive holiday theme, making it an engaging activity for kids.

How to Play New Year I Spy
1. Identify the Icons: Look closely at the left side of the worksheet. There are ten different New Year’s-themed icons. Familiarize yourself with each one.
2. Search and Count: Carefully examine the large image on the right. Count how many times each of the ten icons appears in the picture.
3. Record Your Findings: Write the number of times you found each icon in the box next to its corresponding image on the left side of the worksheet. For example, if you found five party hats, write “5” in the box next to the party hat image.
4. Color (Optional): Once you’ve counted all the icons, you can add a festive touch by coloring each icon in both the key and the main image.
5. Check Your Answers: (If possible, compare your answers with another player or the answer key if available) This will help you see if you’ve correctly counted all the appearances of each icon.
Have fun celebrating the New Year with this counting game!

My Favorite Printable Supplies
Here are some of my top go-to supplies for creating printable games and activities:
- Printer: A high-quality printer is essential for the best results. If you’re in the market for one, I recommend the Canon Pixma MG3620 for its reliable performance.
- White Cardstock: For most projects, I suggest using cardstock. It’s much sturdier than regular printer paper and often gives you a crisper, more professional print.
- Crayons: A must-have for any crafting household! Crayola crayons are always the best choice for vibrant colors and smooth application.
- Kid-Friendly Safety Scissors: Ideal for little ones learning to cut. These scissors are designed to cut paper, not fingers or hair, making them perfect for young crafters!
- Glue Sticks: I love using disappearing purple glue sticks. They’re easy to apply and dry clear. I always stock up in bulk because we go through them quickly!
- Lamination Machine: Laminating your printables helps them last longer, especially for reusable games. If you’re laminating, don’t forget to grab some dry-erase markers for added flexibility.
- Dry Erase Pockets: A great alternative to laminating, dry erase pockets make it easy to reuse games and activities without the need for a laminator.
